Come From Away

A very special Five on Friday as this is the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and the day when all planes in the air were grounded. Our neighbors to the north gave safe harbor to many of those planes. To tell the story of this generosity, The musical Come From Away made its world premiere in June 2015 at the La Jolla Playhouse in California, before officially opening on Broadway on March 12, 2017. Thank You Canada.

The whole live musical is available to stream on Apple TV, and the whole soundtrack is on You Tube. Below Is a full show with Commercials and five favorite songs that reflect part of the story.

And for those who have forgotten what good friends we have just over a line to the north, here are some really big letters:

Thank You Canada

About Me

Retired great grandmother living in the Northwest US. Former radio Public Service Director and National Accounts Manager.

I'm a hair-dishevelled heilan' coo,
Hamish McKay be ma name;
Welcome tae this dreichet glen
I'm cursed tae ca' ma hame.
Depending on the mood I'm in
I'll raise ma horns on high,
An' if I like the look o' ye
I'll likely let ye by.
But should I dinnae like the look
O' ye, then tak great care,
I'll raise ma horns on high again,
Go on, get oot o'there!
So whether welcome yae or nae,
I'll raise these horns sae mean,
Then ye shall ken ma meaning
By the twinkle o' ma een.
