Talk To The Animals

Growth

Human population increases 230,000 per day (after deaths).  Global resources remain finite.  For the animals of the world there are three severe levels of threat.

Critically Endangered (CR) species is one which has been categorized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature as facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild. It is the highest risk category assigned by the IUCN Red List for wild species.

Endangered  species is one existing in such small numbers that it is in danger of becoming extinct, especially such a species placed in jeopardy as a result of human activity. One of the principal factors in the endangerment or extinction of a species is the destruction or pollution of its native habitat.

Vulnerable One which has been categorized by International Union for Conservation of Nature as likely to become endangered unless the circumstance threatening its survival and reproduction improve.

A list of the animals in each group can be found by category on the World Wildlife Fund

There is a chain of life from the lowest form of single cell to complex and interactive societies.  Man is one of the few animals able to change his environment and the only one able to alter it enough in order to live anywhere on earth.  The other animals in the chain are at our mercy, but if they and their habitat disappear, we are at theirs.  Whether it is overfishing for food supplies or bees that pollinate our food, it may take a long while, but if the chain is irreparably damaged we will become endangered as well.

The restaurant owner who murdered a giraffe and even worse the eldest Donald Trump son who slaughtered the elephant. These “trophy” hunters should be hunted down as vermin.

About Me

Retired great grandmother living in the Northwest US. Former radio Public Service Director and National Accounts Manager.

I’m a hair-dishevelled heilan’ coo,
Hamish McKay be ma name;
Welcome tae this dreichet glen
I’m cursed tae ca’ ma hame.
Depending on the mood I’m in
I’ll raise ma horns on high,
An’ if I like the look o’ ye
I’ll likely let ye by.
But should I dinnae like the look
O’ ye, then tak great care,
I’ll raise ma horns on high again,
Go on, get oot o’there!
So whether welcome yae or nae,
I’ll raise these horns sae mean,
Then ye shall ken ma meaning
By the twinkle o’ ma een.
